Viva Chicken is a Peruvian Rotisserie joint that specializes in Pollo a la Brasa (Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken). This Peruvian restaurant is known for their fresh, 100% natural and flavorful dishes that is not only healthy but delicious as well.

Viva Chicken has three locations in Charlotte.

The Menu

Viva Chicken has a wide variety of items to choose from including salads, sandwiches, wraps and of course, their famous rotisserie chicken. All of their chicken is harmon free and all natural. You can view the full menu here.

Despite the name, Viva Chicken is vegetarian friendly! The restaurant offers a wide variety of vegetarian options (that’s even marked with a carrot) and for those non-vegetarian eaters, you have an option to add steak or chicken to your meal for an additional charge. If you love rice bowls, it is highly recommended that you try the Tacu Bowl! This dish is packed with your choice of cilantro infused or jasmine rice, beans, salsa, veggies and avocado.

Viva Chicken also offers 3 house made sauces: Aji Amarillo (mild) Huacatay (medium), Rocoto (hot). Each has their own unique taste and are delicious when dipped with their sweet potato fries.

As for pricing, Viva Chicken is pretty easy on the wallet. Almost all of their items on the menu is less than $10 and they do offer decent sized portions. The most expensive item on the menu is a whole chicken with 3 sides for $23.95 which is marketed as a family sized dish.

I can only speak for the Elizabeth Avenue location, but the atmosphere is always friendly and inviting. The location offers outdoor seating which is perfect for spring and summer outings.

Overall Viva Chicken is a great location if you’re in the mood for Peruvian food, a good healthy option or just delicious food in general. I highly recommend checking it out and be sure to try their sweet potato fries!
